Contemporary French Fusion
This spectacular home located in Bellaire, is the perfect mix of French and contemporary. The owners designed this magnificent chateau to ensure natural light emanated throughout.
The gorgeous home boasts three courtyards and a copious number of windows to give the airy feeling of indoor/outdoor living.
The front of the home was designed with simple elegance in mind.
The front garden was outfitted with a clean hedge of Dwarf Burford Holly lined with boxwood and a single Chinese Fringe tree. Come springtime the Chinese Fringe will take center-stage with its stunning clusters of white fragrant flowers, adding texture and interest to the facade of the home.
To continue the feel of simple elegance, the owners two existing planters were integrated into this clean design. The creative boxwood brackets created a focal point for the planters and gave the owners a beautiful view from above.
As you walk through the foyer and into the kitchen, beams of natural light fill the area and beckon you outside to the first of two green spaces.
Our design team started from the ground up with a blank canvas and were able to create a breathtakingly elegant yet simple sanctuary with tiered plantings of boxwood and Asian Jasmine lining the space. A bottle brush tree was placed in the corner to bring a pop of red when in bloom, while the flagstone stepping pads lead you from the sun-bathed St. Augustine grass to the back shaded oasis.
The juxtaposed feel of this shaded oasis called for an assortment of soft plantings to mirror the soothing energy felt upon entrance to the area of the garden. Holly and Lace Ferns, Fatsia Japonica, and Variegated Ginger wrap around a split synthetic lawn/gravel base highlighting the subtle splash of color provided by the round garden ornament filled with a sea of caladiums.
