French – It’s All About the Roof!

We were referred to Lanson B. Jones by the prior owner of our home. Lanson's level of responsiveness is amazing. When we had a tree fall on our house after Hurricane Ike, he had crews out to take care of it the day after the hurricane. And, we have been consistently impressed with Lanson's attentiveness to our personal vision for our home and property. He has designed a French country garden surrounding the house that is a true joy to behold. For those who are interested in gardening, Lanson will feed that passion, research plants you find interesting, and integrate your ideas as he shares his knowledge. That extended learning and generous attitude of sharing insight truly is a bonus to the beautiful spaces he creates.

Inspired by the Italian Renaissance gardens, the French Renaissance gardens follow the same ideals of order, measure and proportion – a symmetrical and seamless garden connecting Chateaux to the landscape surrounding it.

It entails geometric planting beds known as “parterres,” mythological statues, grand fountains and water ways. Labyrinths and porticos compliment the unique French roof lines and add drama, fantasy and function to the sprawling gardens.

Gravel pathways punctuated with potted plants weave strategically through uniquely defined green spaces. The French Renaissance gardens mirror the grandeur of the majestic structures and landscape from which they stem.
